About Jim

Jim passed away peacefully at his home in Atherton as a result of a prolonged illness. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, lived in Randallstown, Maryland, and then moved to California in the early 1980’s.

He was a certified tax accountant and MBA, and had a successful career as Controller for National Semiconductor, Sun Microsystems, Novariant, Nordic Wind Power and HP, along with consulting with a number of emerging companies over the past two years.

Recognized by colleagues as high energy and dedicated to results, Jim was also known as a person who cared deeply about his family, friends, and beloved Labrador Retrievers, Max and Chico.

Passionate in all things, some of Jim’s best times were spent cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins, and San Jose Sharks, or driving his Mercedes convertible for a walk with his dogs on the Pacific Coast.

He is survived by his nephew and godson, James R Osial (Layla) of San Francisco, brothers Ted Osial (Linda) and Rick Osial, sister Mary Jo Osial (Eric Johnson) and parents Ted Osial, Sr and Mary Jane Osial. He is also survived by his niece, Alissa Osial, and nephews Ryan, Eric and Justin Osial.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Jim Osial to Golden Gate Laborador Rescue or Best Friends Animal Society, Kanab, UT.
